DID YOU KNOW?
LADY MARY PELLATT:
- Lady Mary was the first Commissioner of the Girl Guides of Canada, and was presented with the highest award of that organization: the Silver Fish.
- Lady Mary was a semi-invalid, requiring the use of a wheelchair. Sir Henry had Toronto's first elevator installed for her use. It is labeled Otis I.
- Lady Mary's 3,000 square foot suite is decorated in her favourite colour scheme: Wedgewood blue and white.
- Lady Mary died at the age of 67 in 1924, the same year that the Pellatt's were forced to leave the Casa Loma estate.
