Turn right and proceed up the stair case through the Spring Woodland Garden. The canopy of maples and oaks provide a natural woodland setting for the spring wildflower groupings on either side of the path.

Interesting plant combinations such as Virginia bluebells and dogwood, trilliums and columbine, foamflower and ferns, all illustrate the beauty of our native flora.

At the top of the staircase continue along the path, following the base of the massive rampart wall, which has been planted with white climbing hydrangea. On the right, a grove of Himalayan birches display their attractive white bark.

You are now back at the Dancing Fountain. To exit the garden, please take one of the staircases to the Upper Terrace and re-enter the castle. There is no other exit from the gardens.
