As you walk through the Arbour, note the many varieties of old fashioned roses trained to the arching framework. This area is called the Secret Garden because of its enclosed perimeter fieldstone walls and cedar hedge. The area has a cottage garden feel due to the mixed plantings of shrubs and perennials and lush roses cascading down from the Arbour.
Continue along the curved path to the unique sculpture, designed by artist Ron Baird. Take a moment to discover The Legend of the Dragon Tree. Located in this area are a number of specimen trees worthy of note: the Dawn Redwood, Rocky Mountain Fir, and the graceful Camperdown Elm dating from Sir Henry's time.
